Annual Sports Week in a nutshell
The Guest Speaker of the opening ceremony, Dr. Viposa, Director,GethemGo Sports International, exhorted the students on the scope and significance of Sports ministry through his own life testimony. Mr. Medozu Mero, Vice principal, Pfutsero Government College graced the closing ceremony. He reiterated the need and also ways of becoming agents of change in our society. The community was divided into four groups – Rivenburg, Pelesato, Megosetso and Tanquist. Pelesato emerged as the Champion.
Baptist Institute of Church Music inaugurated at BTC Pfutsero
Baptist institute of Church Music (BICum) was inaugurated by Director of TaFMA, government of Nagaland, Dr. Hovithal Sothu on December 13 at Baptist Theological College, Pfutsero.
The guest of honour, Dr. Sothu congratulated BTC for starting BICuM which is a great step towards promoting excellence in music. He stated that Nagas, despite being talented, are unable to excel because Naga people are easily satisfied with mediocrity. He further encouraged the aspirants in the field of music to work hard and strive for professional excellence. He also said given the present efforts of TaFMA, the future of music in Nagaland is bright.
This institute aims to impart a one-year certificate course in music and to educate the BTC students in church music and strengthen the music programme and activities of the college for the glory of God.
This inauguration programme was followed by a concert “A Night of Advent Season’s Music” at Chakhesang Mission Centre Church. Besides enthralling performances from the students and college community, the Sweven band and the Canticles both from Pfutsero enthralled the stage with their talent.
